Here we are at the end of our series in the gospel of Mark! I know its been a long run and I hope you've been able to trace the themes in the gospel along with me over the various posts. Today, let's pull together what we've learned from our work.

One of my favorite portions of the New Testament is found in the middle of the gospel of Mark (8:22--10:52). The disciples are following Jesus on the way to Jerusalem and he is teaching them about just who he really is and what it means to follow him. They are struggling with what he says, as do many of us present-day disciples!

Two weeks ago, we started a series on authority and servanthood in the gospel of Mark. If you haven't read Part I, where I introduced some of the historical backrground to the gospel, I would encourage you to do so.
