Thanks,Sandi, for your informative reminders which certainly strike the awarness note.I  became compulsive about turning off lights as I move from one room to another after living 7 years in Austria. The ony logical light to have on at night for the Austrians is the one in the room where you are at that moment. "You can tell the 'foreigners'- ALL of their lights are on!"

I overheard my grandchildren, much more green savy than my generation, saying this summer, standing in my kitchen, "Look, Grami is recycling!" ...like I was just entering the electronic age.

We're trying to get up to speed! I surely don't want the planet to self destruct  because I forgot to "separate" ,but I also don't want to be ticketed for it as the mayor of San Francisco is proposing a la' the article "Gang Green" in the Aug. 15 issue of The Wall Street Journal.  Lots to learn and lots to consider.

I've got to run the garbage man is coming.
