Sabbath

I'm supposed to be taking a Sabbath day today from work.  So, how a nursing mother does this I don't know, but I'm going to try.  I believe I am violating my Sabbath by even being on my computer, but it was my day to blog today and I didn't find someone else to fill in for me.

So rather than coming up with something to blog about I want to ask you something.  What gets in the way of your Sabbath time?  What excuses do you find to not rest?  What can you do to find rest today?

For me, I'm getting off my computer, grabbing a book and heading to a coffee shop to read, enjoy a mocha, reflect (whether on my reading or my mocha) and soak in the Lord on this rainy day.

I long for this

Laura, the ony way I can truly do a Sabbath like "the books" talk about is to plan for it the day before..when I have done this it is really worth it...the rest of the time I struggle with the guilt and the nagging question of why can't I pull this off more regularly. I am thinking that taking a few hours may be the answer than none at all... it was created to help us not to drag us down.

I've come to learn that the sabbath is more than just a day. Jesus is my sabbath. My rest is in Him. Every time I take my focus off myself and the things I'm to do, I focus on Christ and I usually find my rest in Him. His the rest I need after a long day or week. He is with me every moment as He promised never to leave me nor forsake me and I only need to be conscious of His presence and I'm enjoying my sabbath; rest from work, worry, labor, name it! I pray you are blessed.
