Stephen J. Drain was saved, by the grace of God in Christ, in the mid 1980s. Today he would label himself an Evangelical Christian with strong Reformed beliefs, a "5 Point Calvinist."
Steve most enjoys discussing the two "taboo" subjects: Politics and Religion. "And throw Philosophy in to boot because they are all inextricable."
Steve is an avid reader with a goal of reading at least thirty books a year, with an additional ten or so audio books added on during drive times. His favorite author is C.S. Lewis. Other favorites are James R. White, J. Budziszewski, and Peter Kreeft.
Hobbies: Writing, reading, music, hiking, and mountain biking. Steve has been writing songs/lyrics since the age of eight or nine. He played in local Christian bands in the late 1990s. He has written poetry. He has written several biblical studies over two decades and recently finished his first book entitled, “Shaken Faith: When God Has Let You Down” with co-author Al Rossi. He also currently writes articles and columns for the Philadelphia Christian Perspectives Examiner.
Steve has a Liberal Arts Associate’s Degree from Community College of Philadelphia. He would like to continue on to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy or Biblical Studies if he could afford it.
He has been married to his wife since 1991. They have no children.
