A Movie, a President and what I believe

Father’s day passed not too long ago and I was watching a movie with my boys, Night at the Museum 2. If you have seen either 1 or 2 you know there is an artifact that brings museum things to life. While in Washington DC it brought Lincoln to life.

Father’s day passed not too long ago and I was watching a movie with my boys, Night at the Museum 2. If you have seen either 1 or 2 you know there is an artifact that brings museum things to life. While in Washington DC it brought Lincoln to life.

At one point in the movie President Lincoln comes crashing through a huge window standing taller than everything else in the room and saves the moment. Before he leaves he says to Larry Daley “Remember a house divided against itself cannot stand” and then leaves the room. Moments later Larry Daley is confronted by 3 of the bad guys, mumbles to himself a house divided cannot stand and proceeds to confuse the 3 bad guys and distracts them from their task and gets away.

What a great plan!

I started thinking “Hey wait a minute” that what satan is doing to us Christians. He has our house divided. Instead of us Christians focusing on the great commission were focused on doctrine. More and more Christians will debate and linger in conversation about some fine details that they think are so important that they are not focused on the great commission. Some people will spend their entire life focused on defending their way of life/belief that they never spread one ounce of “Good News” satan has divided our house, and we continue to debate things in the name of God.

So let me ask you a question, where do you stand? Are you focused on the right things?

    Reminds me of:

Colossians 2:16-22 Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days – 2:17 these are only the shadow of the things to come, but the reality is Christ! 2:18 Let no one who delights in humility and the worship of angels pass judgment on you. That person goes on at great lengths about what he has supposedly seen, but he is puffed up with empty notions by his fleshly mind. 2:19 He has not held fast to the head from whom the whole body, supported and knit together through its ligaments and sinews, grows with a growth that is from God. 2:20 If you have died with Christ to the elemental spirits of the world, why do you submit to them as though you lived in the world? 2:21 “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!” 2:22 These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are on human commands and teachings.
