God Is Real

Sunday School Chronicles
Me: Is wind real?
Kids: What? Um. Yeah? Why? That’s weird.
Me: But how do you know it’s real? You can’t even see it!
Kid 1: Seriously Ms. Janay?
Me: Yeah! Seriously. How do you know the wind is real if you can’t even see it?
Kid 2: You can feel it when the wind blows!
Kid 3: In the winter, you can see the wind!
Kid 4: It blows leaves and even knocks down trees!
Me: True! You’ve convinced me. The wind is real. Now, how do you know God is real when you can’t see Him?
Kid 5: Because we have the Bible!
Me: I like it. Give me more.
Kid 1: Because of Jesus?
Me: We can go deeper!
Kid 6: Because we have faith?
Me: Yes! That’s it! Because we have faith! There’s a lot of reasons to believe God isn’t real. We can’t see Him. We can’t touch Him. We can’t have a normal face to face conversation with Him. All signs point to God being fake. But it’s our faith in God, His promises, and Jesus that we hold onto. We have a Bible written for His children which is a giant love letter to us. We walk by faith and not by sight.
Reflect: Sometimes it’s hard to believe in something and someone you can’t see. It’s easy to say God isn’t real. Sit and write the reasons why you believe God is real. Ask your parents, friends, Sunday School Teacher, and everyone you know why they believe in God. Go a step further and ask them why they love God and live their lives for Him.
