Logos Bible Software for the Mac — Alpha Release

Last week Logos Bible Software announced the alpha release of the Mac version of their software. It is now available for download at http://www.macbiblesoftware.com/. Because this is an alpha release it’s not recommended for downloading to your primary machine, and no support is provided, but for those who just simply can’t wait and must be on the bleeding edge of technology, it’s now available.

No electronic books or licenses are currently provided, so you would have to purchase a Logos package separately to get the license files for the books (the Mac version reads the same book files as the existing PC version). But if you’re a recent Mac convert who used to own Logos Bible Software as a PC user, it might make sense to go ahead and install the Mac engine and use your existing book files and licenses (hopefully you still have them).

Full details are provided on the Logos website, and while some features do not work yet or still have bugs (this is an alpha release, after all) nevertheless the people at Logos have made remarkable progress in adapting their excellent Bible software to the Mac platform. Hopefully this will move quickly to beta release and more extensive testing. A short video file is provided (also at http://www.macbiblesoftware.com/) to show the software in action, though no audio track is included.
