I am now back in Israel. Today I went to Sepphoris as well as Bet Ha Sha'erim. The second location is where rabbi Judah ha Nasi is bured, He edited the Mishnah in about AD 180-200. This codified the oral law into written form and is an anthology of mostly legal interpretations on various topics.

North Americans seem obsessed with new stuff. I used to love International Coffee's Cafe Vienna, until they "updated" the flavor. So I switched the "French Vanilla." But they did the same thing with that! Somehow we seem to think that "new and improved" is always better. If you don't believe me, walk down the aisle in your grocery store and count the number of times you see "new!" written in bold on the front of a product.

Just finished the SNTS meetings in Lund, Sweden, a beautiful city in Southern Sweden, near Malmö, the country's third largest city. The university has been here since 1666. The meetings were a great time to catch up on all things New Testament.

Well, I have been quiet for a while. Not much happening in the comment world, plus I have spent a great deal of time responding to a series of queries on homosexuality tied to the comments on the previous entry which you should check out.

Note: The original blog in this space dealt with my trip to Taiwan. One of the comments asked to discuss Homosexuality and the Bible. The comments on this entry cover that topic. The original blog is below, but the comments discuss homosexuality, which has now gone to a page 2. So scroll to the bottom of page 1 and click the 2 to get to page 2 comments.
