Discover Prayer (Part VIII): Power Dressing for Prayer!
Power dressing refers to wearing a style of clothing intended to make the wearers seem authoritative and competent. This is also known as dressing for success or dressing for “prayer” success! This concept was used as an object lesson by the Apostle Paul while he was in prison in Rome for teaching on prayer (Ephesians 3:1;4:1;6:20). He used a Roman soldier’s armor (1) to help us understand the important aspects of prayer that must be “put on” (i.e., utilized) for maximum power and effectiveness of prayer (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Prayer Notch-Bumpers
This weekend my understanding of the power of prayer was bumped up a notch. I was at a retreat that was being bathed in prayer; 50 young people, all battling unwanted same-sex attractions, gathered to find fellowship with each other and pursue greater intimacy with Jesus. The fact that they were there at all is an evidence of the power of God and the fact that He answers the prayers of their loved ones. ABCs Part IV: S.W.A.T.
We have all seen and been around the regular policeman wearing the standard-issue police uniform. We realize they are to protect and serve, and we feel safer around them. However, a Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Police officer in full gear may make us uncomfortable. Perhaps we are not accustomed to seeing such weaponry and no-nonsense attitude in our law enforcement officers. However, they are indispensable when dealing with more than your typical criminal.
