As we approach the second anniversary of a date which will live in infamy, the Supreme Court’s ruling on homosexual “marriage” in Obergefell v. Hodges, I thought it important to remind Christians, so as to keep them awake and vigilant in our culture war. The Roe v. Wade anniversary is often marked by a March for Life. Let us also mark this day as, at the very least, a day of prayer for our wayward nation which has, thus far, bound itself to self-destruction. I do not advocate violence, but vigilance. And even as we warn the unbelieving culture to “repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”, we also must recognize that the true enemy is the “the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe” (2 Corinthians 4:4). “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, [and] against the spiritual forces of evil” (Ephesians 6:12). Pray for the spread of God’s kingdom in this nation and then live righteously as an Ambassador for Christ’s kingdom. Pray for the blind and the blind guides. Intercede. “Perhaps God will grant them repentance and then knowledge of the truth and they will come to their senses and escape the devil’s trap where they are held captive to do his will” (2 Timothy 2:25-26).

“The one who digs a pit will fall into it; the one who rolls a stone – it will come back on him” (Proverbs 26:27).
It has been decided… for the time being at least.
In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court has declared that homosexuals have a right to “marry” in the United States. The Dred Scott decision (1857) is often touted as the worst Supreme Court ruling in history, one which helped fan the flames of division and civil war. Roe v. Wade (1973) is another disastrous decision which has not only divided this nation, but has also led to the killing of approximately 60 million babies by their own parents in America. Today, we add a third disastrous ruling to the list, one that embraces immorality and demonstrates that America has completely cut ties with its Judeo-Christian roots. One Jewish columnist entitled his column, “The Formal End to Judeo-Christian America”. Of course, many will celebrate that as a victory as well.
