“Christmas…A Time of Adoration”

The choir begins to sing as the orchestra plays one of the most familiar Christmas carols ever, “O Come All Ye Faithful.”  The congregation stands to their feet as they join in with heartfelt voices, hands lifted in praise, and expressions of adoration to the Lord on their faces.  This was the scene I observed this past Sunday during a Christmas candlelight service at church.

“O come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant

Oh come ye O come ye to Bethlehem;

Come and behold him born the King of angels;

O come let us adore him Christ the Lord.”

The lyrics of this classic Christmas carol were originally written in Latin by John Francis Wade in 1751.  Later, in 1841, the words were translated into English. Countless people, young and old, still enjoy this popular Christmas hymn as one of the traditional songs sung in church services around the world during the Christmas season.

Every time I sing this memorable Christmas hymn, a new meaning and a deeper love for Jesus fills my heart.

For me, Jesus Christ is my joy, hope, peace, and salvation….

O come let us adore Him!

O come let us exalt Him!

O come let us praise Him!

O come let us rejoice in Him!

O come let us worship Him!

O come let us magnify Him!

O come let us honor Him!

O come let us glorify Him!

O come let us thank Him!

O come let us embrace Him!

O come let us believe in Him!

He is the reason for the season.
