RESURRECTION, BELIEVE IN IT AND LIVE IT!
Resurrection! It is one of the most important and powerful events in the world. Easter can mean bunnies, chicks, baskets of candy, colored eggs; but to Christians it is a day to celebrate how Christ came back to life securing salvation for those who believe. Paul put it like this: “For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received—that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures,” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 The truth of the Resurrection makes all the difference to those who believe. But what does it all…

Dream Big by Lucille Williams
I’m often asked, “How do you do it? How do you write a whole book? I want to write a book, but I don’t think I can. I don’t even know where to start.” My reply is always the same, “I write my books one sentence at a time and one paragraph at a time.” Have you ever thought about writing a book? Maybe you want to put pen to paper and leave a legacy for your children, for your grandchildren. Don’t let that annoying, negative voice in your head tell you that you can’t do it. I understand that voice— it begins every time I sit down to write.…

Coming to God
Children have fascinating minds that offer a window into their soul. They question much, trust much but also fear much. The Psalmist wrote his prayer to God in Psalm 6 and 7. In it he reveals why he can trust and have no fear. Many have the mistaken idea that we can only come to God when we are on good behavior, but the Psalmist shows us that we can come boldly before the throne of grace at any time. The religious leaders, the political leaders, and the followers of Jesus were asking, “Who is he?” The Psalmist knew the answer! He is “my” God, the One who is immutable;…

Feelings For Pharoah
Sunday School Chronicles Me: What would happen if you defied the Pharoah? Student: You would get executed! Student 2: Is that why it’s called “Exodus”? Because you get executed? Exodus. Executed. Me: Lol! No! But I can see how you got there! They do sound pretty similar. But actually, you’re right in a way. If you defied the Pharoah, there was a pretty good chance that execution was on the table. Student 3: But wasn’t Joseph scared? Me: Honestly? He probably was. Two things can be true at the same time. I love pie and I love cake. I don’t like cheese cubes but I love cheeseburgers. Joseph may have…

Bible Memory? A Must!
Memorizing the Bible has been a challenge in every generation. It is a challenge for every age group. The enemy does not like it when we hide God’s Word in our hearts.

Christmas and Mr. Scrooge
Charles Dickens wrote that story long ago, but it is as if it were written today. There will always be the Scrooges in our midst. Paul doesn’t mince words about the Scrooges Titus would meet as he sought to pastor. These are rebellious, empty talkers, and the result is that they upset not just themselves but everyone around them. We too might meet such persons. They are the ones who say ‘humbug’ to all the trappings of Christmas and they were doing just that to Titus’ overtures. They profess to know God, but their very lives deny Him, and especially on Christmas. Have you met them? They are stingy and…

A Captive Fan
Sunday School Chronicles Me: David and Jonathan were bros. Jonathan was David’s ace. His boy. *boys start high fiving their best friends* Girls: Aww! Me: Fun fact! Jonathan is also Saul’s son. So there’s a lot of tension there. Jonathan’s dad is constantly in competition with his best friend. So Saul and David go to battle. As soon as they come back, all the chicks come out screaming, “Oh my gosh! It’s Saul! He killed thousands! But David killed tens of thousands!” Saul is feeling some type of way because all of his groupies are Team David. They’re supposed to be Team Saul, but all of a sudden it’s, “Saul?…

Making Christmas the Best Time of the Year
The Christmas season is magical. Who doesn’t like a good Hallmark movie? It can take us to Magic Land, where everything turns out peachy and keen. It always has a happy ending. People always work out their differences. Everyone is happy in the end. I think that’s why I like those feel-good movies so much. I like being ushered into a fantasy world where all turns out dreamlike. Perhaps this season brings hurt and pain for you. If you’ve lost a loved one around this reminders that you’re not as close to people you love as you’d like to be. This pain can cause loneliness and sadness. We all experience different feelings around…
