Off to the CBA in Denver To Introduce The Missing Gospels Book – July 5

It is time to introduce the new book, the Missing Gospels. So I am off to the Christian Booksellers Association in Denver with earlier stops in Memphis and New York for other business. In this newest book I look at what has caused all the fuss about these extra-biblical gospels and work through them is some detail on four topics – God and Creation, the person of Jesus, salvation, and the work of Jesus.

I taek on the view of Walter Bauer that there was no such thing as an orthodox faith in the first few centuries of Christianity and the efforts to revise the early history of the faith. The book is out August 8. I will let you know about the initial reactions. This book is part of a series of works I am now working on to deal with issues about Jesus that are now widely circulating in the public square as the recent attention to the Gospel fo Judas shows. I am already off and writing on the next one, due out in 2007.
