Key Bible Tools for the Mac: Accordance and Libronix 6/25/09
It has been a while since I discussed Bible tools for the Mac (Sorry PC folks, only Apple is worthy). My tool of choice for years has been Accordance, which is an excellent search resource. I still use it regularly.

Recently the folks at Logos have made a Mac version of their Libronix program available. What it does is allow the development of an electronic library of a wide choice of resources for study and searching. I actually was involved in some initial development of this concept back in the eighties. It is great to see it so effectively implemented. I just did some work on an article on Luke, possessions and the poor. It was a joy to be able to roam across resources easily for information, including solid search capability. What is nice is that they are developing a choice of more technical resources to work with, so that some wonderful commentary series such as “BECNT, NIGTC, Pillar, IVP NT, and Cornerstone,” are available to use in this format. if you want more detail, go to http://www.macbiblesoftware.com/. Both of these resources are worth the time and investment.

Wish I had a Mac
Gosh, you and about everyone else I know just love their Macs. I’d love to get my hands on one to test out Accordance and (now) Libronix. Do you think Apple would send me a free MacBook to review? I can dream about that anyway. Ok, well have a good day.

Re: Wish I Had a Mac
Matt Evans mentioned that he would like to try Accordance but only had a PC.
Accordance does run well on a PC with a free Macintosh emulator.

However, having a real Mac is a much better idea!
