In case you missed it, Professor DeConick of Rice commented on my post yesterday with a few responses that explain her take on the Gospel of Judas (See comments under Dec 1).

Her responses are helpful and reflective of the kind of discussion that goes on as people try to gain an understanding of a new and difficult text. It illustrates why a new text is best vetted before it is released to the public without that text being held in secret in a restircted fashion, a key point in her New York Times editorial. So we are engaging in that process to a limited degree here.

So thanks to her for taking the time to explain and respond. I am still asking questions about this text as the passage is complex. Hopefully to see this process is helpful to all.
