How should the world see us

As Christians, how should the world see us? What kind of thumb print should we leave on the world or better yet how should we, Christians, be known.

As Christians, how should the world see us? What kind of thumb print should we leave on the world or better yet how should we, Christians, be known.

Now think about it, we all stereotype and yes Christians have a bad name. If we saw an ambassador from a foreign country and they acted rude and impolite we would think that all people from that country were the same way. If our only encounter with a group of people was with an ignorant person we would think all the people from that group were like that. We have our own opinions of certain people, certain races and certain organizations.

So if this being the case, then you need to remember that YOU are an ambassador for Christ. 2COL 5:20

We may be the only person, that some people see or meet, that are Christians. What kind of impression do we want to leave with them? At that moment in time YOU could be the only representation of a Christian that they will every see. Think about this. Your actions will cause this person to think that Jesus Christ was the same way. After all your claiming to be a Christian, one who is Christ like. Huge load to bear. But as Christians we are called to go forth and spread the good news. MAT 28:19.

So how should we act? Should we just be seen walking around praying all the time.
1THE 5:17 Constantly pray

The Bible tells us to pray all the time. But Jesus give us examples of how to do this.
LUK 5:16 – Jesus himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness to pray
MAT 6:6 But when ever you do pray, go to your room, close the door, and pray to your father in secret.

Jesus lead us in example of pray so that we could have an ongoing relationship with the Father. So should all pray be in private? Nope

When Jesus prayed in public it was to either give thanks to the Father or to glorify the Father. So unlike those hypocrites in MAT 6:5 he did it for his Father not himself.

So how else are we to act.

Paul said we are NOT to be sexually immoral, impure, depraved, worship idols, practice sorcery, be hostile, cause strife, be jealous, react in anger, be selfish, envy, murder or be drunk.

Paul did say to have joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

So if you walk around professing to be a Christian then be careful as to how you act. You represent all of us INCLUDING Jesus Christ.

So when your wearing your Christian Tee-Shirt with Some really neat saying on it don’t be rude while in line for the movies or while shopping. When your wearing your cross around your neck or as earrings,be care how you speak to people and how you treat them. When you have your fish sticker on the back of your car and you just won the power debate of who got in front of who when the two lanes became one. Or as you cut someone off cause they were trying to get in front of you and after all that was your place in line. Remember as you drive away all proud that all they see is your fish sticker and they think all Christians are like that.

Not to mention that dad’s, your children are also watching you. As young boys love to imitate dad, and daughters their mothers.

Remember that we could be all they see of Christ. It is not easy living in this world but God is asking us to change it. One person, one action, one step at a time.
