Music for the Soul
In our whirlwind world today the biblical admonition to “be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10) is growing ever more difficult. Calendars, car pools, conflicting sport schedules, not to mention finding time for homework or housework crowd our days with demands and duties.

It seems that only yesterday we welcomed a new year and a new decade, 2010, yet already over a forth of this year has flown by. Whether it is the explosion of information, technology or multiplied responsibilities, each of us faces the challenge to carve out time to quiet our soul before our God.
This past week I met a lovely woman, Charlotte Floyd, living in East Texas who expressed this challenge in a fresh way. As an accomplished pianist and composer she combined two classic compositions in such a way that they illustrate this personal struggle.
We all, especially as women, face the challenge of finding time in a demanding schedule to still our souls in worship. We find in that stillness focus and strength to traverse the day confident that God is on our side. This composition combines Flight of the Bumblebee and Be Still My Soul and illustrates the conflict. It’s resolution brought refreshment to my soul.
If these observations resonate with your life today, take a moment and access this amazing composition and let the music refresh and restore your soul.
