Scrambling ForTime

One of our bloggers, Gail Seidel asked if we are finding that in 2011 we are already in a “scrambling for time” race. Yes, we are all finding that the pace of life continues to increase and intensify and so much so as we “think” we see the day of the Lord’s appearing drawing ever nearer. So what is ahead for 2011 for bible.org and how do we fit into His plan in the midst of the busyness of our day to day activities? Let’s slow down and see what lies ahead:

One of our bloggers, Gail Seidel asked if we are finding that in 2011 we are already in a “scrambling for time” race. Yes, we are all finding that the pace of life continues to increase and intensify and so much so as we “think” we see the day of the Lord’s appearing drawing ever nearer. So what is ahead for 2011 for bible.org and how do we fit into His plan in the midst of the busyness of our day to day activities? Let’s slow down and see what lies ahead:

  • stewardship of the blessing He has bestowed into the bible.org accounts;
  • discernment regarding the updating of the materials on bible.org;
  • wisdom to answer the emails that comes across our path and to sort them by the person most knowledgeable to do so-
  • and in the midst of it all to continue to have a quiet and reverent spirit.

A tall order!

In the chronological reading for today Job was set aside for a time as we all know due to the intensity of the satanic attack allowed by God, but unbeknown to Job. As he sat in the midst of ashes scraping his body of the sores, he continued to note that God is in control and He alone orders our circumstances. He did not ever obey his wife’s leaning to “curse God and die” nor did he yield to his friend’s comments “your children have sinned and that is why you are experiencing this” or…(fill in the blank).  Job asks the question: why  do we dare to say “why does God allow this? Or why do bad things happen to good people”?  Instead Job noted that God is sovereign and He allows both good and bad to come our way ir-regardless of our station (believer or non-believer). Instead, God is building a Tapestry (to borrow our women’s blog term) of our lives and each and every idea, circumstance, event is being used for His purposes which are as the Westminster Confession says “to glorify Him forever”.  So the question remains: how shall we use each minute of each day to accomplish that? May I offer here a few suggestions?

  1. Start each day by joining one of the daily bible reading plans offered by bible.org

    1. Ask a friend to read along with you and share your key understandings each day
  2. Join a Bible Study that will challenge you to “think outside the box”
  3. Choose to volunteer for bible.org using your skills for Him
  4. Write your own blog on users.bible.org or join one of the groups on that section
  5. List your own ideas as a comment here below
