Will You Be Mine?

Valentine’s Day has come and gone and for many people it was a special day full of love, fun, food, flowers, chocolates, strawberries and gifts.  What does the day after bring, though?

Valentine’s Day has come and gone and for many people it was a special day full of love, fun, food, flowers, chocolates, strawberries and gifts.  What does the day after bring, though? On the day after when you walk into a grocery or department store you will find the left over valentine gifts, cards, flowers, and candy that brought so many people enjoyment and satisfaction, no longer are of any importance. The enjoyment that people experienced receiving these gifts satisfied their longing to be loved…at least for a brief moment.  Emotions were touched and hearts were embraced, but for some this day only meant disappointment and sadness.

What kind of message are we teaching our children about love?  Are we teaching them to experience the love of Christ who will not disappoint or cause them sadness?  Are we showing them how to love thy neighbor as thy self?  Are we shining like Jesus within our family and demonstrating how to be godly parents?

Children learn by experiencing God’s love through loving parents and by observing God’s word in godly examples.  Without godly role models or guidance they will not understand the appropriate and correct definition of love. As we nurture these dear little ones to embrace Jesus Christ, we must giving them opportunities to embrace and experience His love all year long…not just on Valentine’s day.

You see, Jesus is calling their names saying….WILL YOU BE MINE?  When He calls are the children’s ears tuned to hear Him…are they ready to answer Him?  He will continue to knock at the doors of their hearts…WILL YOU BE MINE…patiently waiting for them to say “yes!”Below are some Scriptures that will encourage your children to embrace the love of Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 8:7         Psalm 119:159       1 Corinthians 13:13

John 14:21            1 John 4:16            Ephesians 3:17

1 John 4:10           1 John 4:8              Ephesians 6:24

John 3:16              1 John 4:7              Ephesians 5:2

1 Corinthians 8:3    Deuteronomy 6:5    1 John 5:1

May the hearts of our children embrace the love of Christ and may they know and experience His love!
