Anticipation
Don’t you love watching families reunite in joy and excitement? This time of the year gives us plenty of opportunity to see our military families running to greet their loved ones, having been separated by miles and time. Relatives who we haven’t seen in years find ways to gather together for the special season. The “never let you go” hugs and kisses of fathers, mothers and children home for the holidays resonates deeply within us and we smile and cry with them. EXPECTATION
"The Disciples" painted in 1898 by Swiss Artist Eugene Burnand, was bought by the French State for the Luxembourg Museum in Paris and is considered one of his greatest works. Burnard was an artist of outstanding range and talent whose art had religious and basic life themes. Why Wait? – Waiting and “Waiting on God”
WAITING – can be as mundane as waiting for the line to move, for the traffic to untangle, for the light to turn green; or as tension filled as waiting for a phone call, for the pregnancy report, for the diagnosis, for wellness, for a job; or as poignant and anticipatory as waiting for someone to come home, for the war to be over, for God to make the next step clear.
