Thanksgiving a time to reflect…
Thanksgiving a time to reflect…. Thanksgiving is upon us…and on this day many cooks, men and women, will rise early in the morning to put the turkey in the oven, make the pumpkin pie, and set the table with beautiful china and crystal in preparation for a celebration. Once the meal is ready, families will sit down at the table together and enjoy food, fellowship, and give thanks to God for all of His provision and the blessings He has provided throughout the year.

Humble or Selfish? Which Are You?
Have you ever been frustrated when you see people acting selfish and self-centered? Worse yet, have you ever experienced parents teaching their children to act this way, by modeling a "full-of-oneself" example…that no one else matters…it's all about me…and humility is far from their thoughts and even farther from their behavior.

Trick or Treat…Right or Wrong?
In a just few days children all over the U.S. will dress up in costumes and go from house to house to receive a treat from participating neighbors. After the sun goes down on October 31st, sidewalks everywhere will be full of children dressed up in all sorts of costumes…walking around the neighborhoods and knocking on doors in an effort to receive as many treats as they can carry.

Answer God’s Call…Step out in Faith…SERVE!
Have you ever had to call to have your refrigerator serviced? Maybe you have had green algae in your pool…or your air conditioner was not cooling the house adequately…or you might have had the dreaded plugged up toilet. Most of you have had similar problems and you’ve had to make a phone call to the nearest service company in an effort to take care of the problem and to address the need.

Hide and Seek…”To Be Found By Jesus”
As a child growing up, I loved to play the game "Hide and Seek." My sister, my cousins, and I especially liked playing the game at night…in the dark. We knew that if we played in the dark our chances of not being found were greater. Many times the one who was playing as the seeker would not be able to find the rest of us. After about ten minutes we would run out from our hiding places and hope that we would not get tagged by the seeker.

Taking Children On An Incredible Journey
Have you ever been on an incredible journey and experienced God's peace, love, and joy? When our children were young our family traveled to the Dominican Republic. As the time grew closer, anticipation and excitement escalated as our children counted down the days until our departure date. This was not just a vacation, but this was an incredible journey that God used to open our hearts to His peace, love, and joy. You see, this particular trip was our families first mission trip together.

MVP Training…”Time For Instruction”
Have you ever been to a basketball game? Several years ago, my husband and I would travel with our son, Adam, to his basketball games in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was in Dallas that he attended a private Christian school and played basketball for the high school team. Adam was a dedicated player who was instructed well by his coach. He was trained in the skills of basketball, he was instructed to demonstrate teamwork, and he was encouraged to show good sportsmanship at all of his games. Through proper training and appropriate instruction our son, Adam, was equipped to play basketball and participate with other players on his team.

Ready, Set, Go! “Equipped To Serve”
Have you ever been to a track meet? On April 3, 2010, I attended a track meet at the University of Texas in Arlington. This was not any track meet, but it was by invitation only and was held for those high school kids who had qualified from their respective states. These young people were the best competitors in their respective events and were state champions. Because of their accomplishments they had been selected and invited to participate on the next level of competition against others from all over the United States. You see, those who won at this particular meet were given the opportunity to compete in Singapore.
